Adopt Dakota

Adopt Dakota

Dakota is one happy, happy Husky (mix), and it’s not hard to see why. He was rescued from a hoarder who kept him in a home with 98 other dogs – 98! Now that he’s at Best Friends, life is much better – he’s got lots of good food, a pool to play in, trips around town, and his favorite thing in the whole world – attention! You see, Dakota is a people dog – meeting new people just makes his day. When he meets someone he really likes, he’ll even put his paws on their shoulders so he can lick their face!

There’s only one thing that could make Dakota’s giant grin a little wider, and that’s a person of his very own for him to hang out with. His caregivers are hoping that someday soon, one of the people he rears up to hug will take him home.

Dakota doesn’t have a sponsorship link quite yet, but he is (very) ready for adoption, and sponsoring a dog in his honor would really make his day!

We caught Starsky as he was out and about for a walk with his favorite toy – his Jolly Ball, which he takes with him everywhere he goes. This happy-go-lucky playful fellow is a giant (and I do mean giant) fan of any sort of toys, but he also has a softer side, when he’ll settle down for a snooze and (quietly) snore while offering his flank as a comfy pillow.

Blue Bear had the BEST day. He went on an outing with vet tech Sara and John his old caregiver from Conrad and Leopold’s. He went all over town and had an amazing time riding in the car with the wind in his ears!

He ventured to the hidden lake and felt like Indiana Blue Bear. He was having so much fun and had the biggest smile on his face! He was also treated like a king with bottled water and cheeseburgers. Yummy!

He might be 14 years old, incontinent and only have three legs, but he has a vibrant spirit and is such an amazing boy! Thanks Sara and John for showing this special guy a great time.

Amara the hound

Amara is the most adorable hound! I love visiting with her! I just have to make sure I don’t have any treats hidden because she can find anything with that hound nose.

I like to tell stories!

I like to tell stories!

She is so sweet, though. She also loves to have visitors. She likes to tell you all about what she did with her roommates that day or if she went on an outing. She loves hikes because there are so many smells. She also has the BIGGEST ears to listen. If you are having a bad day or just want to chat, she will sit down with you and make you feel better.

Amara is amazing. I highly recommend taking her on an outing or sleepover. You won’t be disappointed!

Did you see Sugar Baby on the front page of the Best Friends website? She loves all the attention!
